I spent nine years in 4H and it has really influenced my photographic works. I am a photographer who’s work focuses on the rural lifestyle and the way that I was raised to give people insight on the country way of life that people often misunderstand.

I absolutely love living in the middle of nowhere and I believe so much can be said from such a simple photograph of a barn or the detail of a goat’s ear. The rural lifestyle brings so much peace and inspiration to my works and it really has made me who I am as a person and as a photographer.

I want my photographs to give people insight into both my home and my growing up but also insight into the general way that I was raised and how much it means to me. The majority of what I shoot is on my farm but portraits are often a huge part of my work as well and I believe a simple black and white portrait can say so much with the content being so little. The photographs in my On the Farm series and are very personal to me, but I want them to also become very personal to the viewer. After viewing my work, I hope the viewer has a respectful and insightful view of “a map dot town” and understands that the little farm towns often create the most emotion and best memories.
